This English text is a courtesy translation. This policy is drafted in French; the French version is the only authentic one and prevails in the event of any discrepancy.

This policy explains how the personal data of Eclipse Conquest players is used, whether the game is obtained through Steam or downloaded directly from the official Eclipse Conquest website.

1. Data controller

The data controller is:

2. Data collected

Depending on the version of the game you use, we may process the following data:

  • Eclipse Conquest account: e-mail address, username and password, the password being stored in a non-reversible form;
  • Steam version: Steam identifier (Steam ID) used for Steam-related services, as well as the name and picture of your Steam profile, read from Steam in order to be displayed in the game and on the website;
  • Game language: the language you chose in the game, so that we can send you e-mails and show you the legal texts in that language;
  • Game data: progress, card collection, in-game currency, friends, players you have blocked, statistics and match results;
  • Sanctions: if your account, your IP address or your device is subject to a sanction (suspension or ban) decided by the team, the decision (duration, reason given), the IP address and the non-reversible fingerprint of the device concerned, in order to enforce the sanction and prevent it from being circumvented;
  • Reports: when you report a player, the reason chosen, an optional comment of at most 300 characters, your account and that of the reported player, so that the team can examine the situation (there is no messaging between players: no message is kept);
  • Technical data: IP address, non-reversible technical identifier of the device, installed game version and information about the connection to the service;
  • Purchases made directly from NoxFernGames: information needed to follow the order and the payment, such as the content purchased, the transaction reference, the amount, the date and the payment status;
  • Proof of your consent when making a purchase: the two agreements requested before any payment (immediate performance of the contract and waiver of the right of withdrawal), the version and language of the terms and conditions of sale displayed and accepted, the date and time, and the IP address used when the order was confirmed.

Some of this data is necessary to create an account, access the game or use its online features.

3. Why do we use this data?

The data is used to:

  • create and manage your Eclipse Conquest account;
  • allow access to the game and save your progress;
  • manage your collection, your statistics, your friends and your match results;
  • ensure the security of the service;
  • fight cheating, fraud and multiple accounts;
  • enforce any sanctions;
  • manage purchases and transactions, send you the order confirmation by e-mail and keep proof of your consent (immediate performance, waiver of the right of withdrawal, terms of sale accepted);
  • check that the version of the game you are using is up to date, and require an update when a security fix makes it necessary;
  • compile statistics intended for game balancing from data that does not allow players to be personally identified;
  • comply with our legal obligations where necessary.

Providing the game and managing the account are mainly based on the performance of the contract.

Processing intended to protect the game against cheating, fraud and abuse, as well as checking the game version, is based on the legitimate interest of NoxFernGames in ensuring the security and proper operation of the service.

Keeping proof of your consent when making a purchase is based on the legal obligation to be able to demonstrate compliance with the rules applicable to the sale of digital content, as well as on our legitimate interest in defending ourselves in the event of a dispute.

Eclipse Conquest does not use players' personal data for targeted advertising and does not carry out advertising profiling.

4. Version distributed through Steam

When you use the Steam version of Eclipse Conquest, your Steam ID may be used to allow identification and Steam-related features.

Account access from the website

A player using the Steam version can sign in to the Eclipse Conquest website with the associated account and access the account management functions made available. In that case, the picture of their Steam profile, if it is displayed on the website, is loaded directly from Steam's image servers (Valve), which then receive the visitor's IP address as for any image hosted by a third party; no other data is transmitted.

When a Steam account is identified as being linked to the signed-in Eclipse Conquest account, access to the shop and to the purchases offered directly on the website is disabled.

A Steam player can therefore access their account from the website, but cannot buy on the web shop content intended for the Steam version of the game.

Purchases in the Steam version

Purchases of content, virtual currency or other items offered in the Steam version of Eclipse Conquest are made from the shop built into the game and are processed solely by the Steam payment system and the Steam Wallet.

The Steam version does not offer payment through PayPal or through the Eclipse Conquest website shop for the purchase of content intended for that version.

Players using the Steam version are not redirected to our website in order to bypass the Steam payment system for their in-game purchases.

The corresponding payment data is processed by Valve Corporation in accordance with its own terms and its privacy policy.

NoxFernGames may receive from Steam the information needed to confirm that a transaction has taken place and to grant the corresponding content to the player's account.

5. Version downloaded directly from our website

The version of Eclipse Conquest downloaded directly from our website does not require Steam and does not use a Steam ID for authentication.

The player uses their Eclipse Conquest account directly to access the game, their progress, their collection and the online services.

Access to the website shop

The shop available directly on the Eclipse Conquest website is reserved for accounts using the independent version of the game, outside Steam.

When an account is not associated with the Steam version and meets the conditions required to use the shop, it can access the purchases offered directly by NoxFernGames.

Content purchased from this shop is intended for the independent version of Eclipse Conquest.

6. Payments in the independent version

Purchases intended for the version downloaded directly from our website may be offered by NoxFernGames.

The main means of payment used for these purchases is PayPal.

Bank details and full information about the means of payment are entered and processed directly by PayPal. NoxFernGames does not store players' bank card numbers or full bank details.

NoxFernGames receives only the information needed to verify and manage the transaction, in particular its reference, amount, date and status.

Processing carried out directly by PayPal is subject to PayPal's privacy policy.

7. Separation of payment systems

Purchase systems are separate depending on the version used:

Steam version: in-game purchases exclusively through Steam and the Steam Wallet.

Independent version: purchases offered directly on the Eclipse Conquest website, mainly through PayPal.

An account associated with Steam can access its Eclipse Conquest account from the website, but does not have access to purchases from the web shop.

Only accounts using the independent version, outside Steam, can access the purchases offered directly on the website.

8. Retention period

Account data and game data are kept until the account is deleted, except where certain data must be kept longer to comply with a legal obligation.

The IP address and the technical identifier of the device are kept for 90 days after the last connection, then deleted.

Player reports are kept for 90 days, then deleted automatically.

Sanctions are kept for their duration (a permanent sanction, for as long as it is in force), then for 365 days after they end or are lifted, before automatic deletion.

Technical backups are kept for a limited period necessary for the operation and restoration of the service.

Information relating to transactions may be kept for the time necessary to manage the purchase and to comply with the applicable accounting, tax and legal obligations.

If you delete your account, your past orders are kept for these obligations, but they are detached from your account: they are no longer linked to your identity and the IP address recorded when the order was confirmed is erased. Only the accounting elements remain (content purchased, amount, date, transaction reference, version of the terms of sale accepted).

9. Recipients of the data

Where necessary for the operation of the service, the data may be accessible to:

  • OVHcloud and Hostinger, for hosting;
  • our e-mail sending service provider;
  • Valve Corporation, for Steam features and payments made in the Steam version;
  • PayPal, for payments made directly to NoxFernGames in the independent version.

NoxFernGames does not sell players' personal data and does not transfer it for advertising purposes.

10. Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers, in particular Valve or PayPal, may process some data outside the European Economic Area.

Where such transfers take place, they are subject to the protection mechanisms provided for by the applicable regulations and to the safeguards put in place by the providers concerned.

11. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR and under the conditions provided for by the regulations, you have in particular the rights of:

  • access;
  • rectification;
  • erasure;
  • restriction of processing;
  • objection;
  • portability.

You can download an export of the available data from your account.

You can also request the deletion of your account directly from the game.

You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL — Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (the French data protection authority).

12. Minor players

Eclipse Conquest is intended for people aged at least 15, subject to any higher minimum age that may be imposed by the legislation applicable in the player's country.

Where the applicable legislation requires the authorisation of a parent or legal representative, the minor player must obtain that authorisation before using the service concerned.

13. Cookies and audience measurement

The Eclipse Conquest website currently uses no audience measurement tool of the Analytics type, no advertising tool and no advertising tracking cookie.

Only cookies or mechanisms strictly necessary for the operation and security of the website may be used.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to take into account changes to Eclipse Conquest, its services, its providers or legal obligations.

The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
